Welcome to C.J. Redwine's Writer's Sanctuary homepage! C.J. Redwine is a NYT Bestselling author of THE RAVENSPIRE series and an experienced teacher. Twice a year C.J. hosts writing retreats that focus on building community and connection with writers of all levels. 

Her retreats aim to provide one-on-one feedback to all attendees, so space is limited. Each retreat offers classes on craft, as well as ample time to work on your latest project in a relaxing setting.

2018 Writer's Sanctuary Retreat

Writer's Sanctuary Retreat - 2018





Come for three full days of workshops, writing time, pampering, great meals, and social time (if you want it!) with other writers. It's like your own private writing conference, only with much better food.

WHEN:

Check-in begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10th. Check out is 9 a.m. Sunday, October 14th.

WHAT YOU GET:
*A luxurious cabin nestled in the lush Smokey Mountains of Tennessee with gorgeous views all around, a wrap around porch w/plenty of space to read a book and take in the views, wifi, a swimming pool, hot tub, and more. You can view the cabin here.

*A private chef with all meals and snacks provided. Our chef is Heather Palmquist-Lindahl, a foodie who is also a gourmet cook and who uses fresh, organic ingredients to make delicious meals. A menu will be published beforehand. You may alert us to food allergies on the registration form. We are adept at handling allergies and gluten intolerance. If you have extremely difficult food issues, you are welcome to supplement the meals with your own food, but we will do our best to accommodate everyone.

*3 days of workshops that include: 


  • Becoming Fearless: How to identify your obstacles and develop strategies to neutralize them



  • Goal Setting: Tips, Tools, and Techniques to Set Realistic Goals. Build a career plan for your next 5 years!



  • Pushing the Boundaries: Learn how to stretch yourself creatively, how to build unique plots and characters, and how to create vulnerability on the page



  • Creating With Wild Abandon: Explore various creative exercises and disciplines to unlock your deepest potential.


  • Branding and Marketing: Identify your brand, create a plan for your platform, and learn the hottest tips for marketing yourself and your books.

  • Instagram 101: Get a crash course in how to create amazing Bookstagram pics, how to engage with your audience, and how to draw new followers.
You can attend all, pick and choose, or come just to write! The agenda will be published beforehand so that you can plan your time.

Dave from Two Cats PC Repair will be on hand to give every attendee a FREE laptop tune up! All attendees who are interested may check their laptop in with him one evening before they go to bed, and he'll work on them through the night!

*A one-on-one session with C.J. that includes a critique of 10 pages OR a query critique for that book can be purchased for an additional $25.

WHERE:
The Gatlinburg Mansion is a 14 bedroom luxury cabin, overlooking The Great Smoky Mountains Mount Leconte. 


The Cost:

$150 non-refundable deposit 

First invoice must be paid within 60 days of the registration fee to hold the space.

$1,250.00 per person for a single, private room.  SOLD OUT. 




$750.00 per person to share a private room.  SOLD OUT. The bedroom may have individual beds or 1 set of queen bunk beds. (Please note that if you register for a shared private room, you must specify a roommate or you will be assigned one.) There is plenty of space throughout the homestead to write or be on your own. You'll only be using your room for sleep. 



$600.00 per person to share a room with three roommates. Two slots remaining as of 6/26/18. Shared rooms are equipped with spacious bunk beds. 



*Please note that for privacy issues, male attendees must register for a private room at either the $1,250.00 single price or the $750.00 price if you have a roommate.

**If rooms are sold out, your name will be put on a waiting list in case of cancellations. 

***No guests under the age of 14 allowed. Guests ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent, and both must pay a registration fee for the room of their choice. 

Payment Plan:

A non-refundable deposit of $150 submitted with your registration form will secure your space. 
We will offer two types of payment plans:

  • Paid in full with a discount of 10%  
  • 6-month payment plan. 


Cancellations: The $150 deposit is non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for cencellations received after July 1, 2018 (cancellations received before will receive a full refund of funds paid minus the deposit). If you have to cancel, we will do our best to replace you with someone from the waiting list. If we are able to replace you, the remainder of your fee will be refunded to you once your replacement has paid their fee. No refunds will

Steps to Register:

1. Fill out the registration below and submit it.
2. Choose from the Fall Retreat "Single," "Double," or "Quad" Paypal buttons on the sidebar and submit your $150 non-refundable deposit. If you'd prefer to send an e-check, contact Hannah at assistant@cjredwine.com.
3. Confirmation of your registration will be sent to you within 48 hours. If the spaces are full and you are on the waiting list, your $150 will be refunded, and you will be notified if a space opens up. Once your deposit is sent, Hannah will contact you to setup your payment option. 
4. If you'd prefer to pay your balance up front (after sending the $150 deposit), please contact Hannah at assistant@cjredwine.com for instructions.
